Family Resources

Jokes4Miles is not just about jokes. When a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness, it can be incredibly overwhelming. You may not even know what questions to ask. What do you do first? Where should you turn?It may feel like medical school, but the more you educate yourself the better. The complex terms are intimidating, but knowing about the drugs, procedures, hospitals and doctors related to your situation can make a difference.
The financial strain of caring for a sick relative can also be devastating. Insurance deductibles, transportation expenses to and from hospitals, babysitters, time off from work and more can be a huge burden.
You are not alone. We are not doctors so we cannot provide medical advice, but we can still help. Watch interviews with parents, cancer survivors, nurses, doctors, other patients and more. Listen to their moving stories. Follow the helpful tips and guidance they share. Hopefully we can save you hours of research and point you in the right direction.
When you’re ready, join our community and interact on our message boards. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. We want to help. Hopefully you will embrace our unconditional, benevolent spirit and jump in when you can.
To ease your suffering we provide an extensive list of charitable organizations that offer assistance. We aren’t competing for financial support (we never solicit donations from the public), so we have no hidden agenda.
